The Grandeur Collection is the absolute pride of our workshop. When I set out to create this range, I wanted to build something that truly stands the test of time. That’s why we exclusively use J & E Sedgwick English leather—a material with over 120 years of heritage. It is famous for its incredible strength and that iconic, deep shine that only comes from traditional, slow tanning.

Every piece in this collection is hand-cut and hand-stitched right here in Scotland. We’ve focused heavily on the anatomical shaping of our headpieces and nosebands, ensuring our designs clear the sensitive areas around your horse's ears and poll. Whether it is a traditional flat bridle or our refined rolled designs, every detail is engineered for a quiet, soft connection between you and your horse.

TIPS ON HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR LEATHER PRODUCTS

The Art of Leather Care

Preserve the Performance. Protect the Legacy.

Leather is a natural, living material. Much like our own skin, it requires consistent care to remain supple, strong, and beautiful. Factors such as sunlight, humidity, and daily wear can take a toll, but with the right routine, your Ice Equestrian tack will perform at its peak for years to come.


Initial Care: Before the First Ride

Before using your new bridle, we recommend a light application of our Leather Balm. Use a soft, clean cloth to apply a thin, even layer. This creates a protective seal and ensures the leather is nourished from the very first ride.

  • A Professional Note: We advise against the use of heavy oils. Over-oiling can saturate the fibres, causing the leather to over-soften and lose its structural resistance. Our Leather Balm provides the perfect balance of protection and suppleness without the risk of stretching.

Daily Maintenance

After every ride, use a damp sponge and our Leather Cleaner to wipe away dirt, grease, and sweat—particularly from the bit attachments and the anatomical padding. This prevents salt from drying out the hide.


Sunlight & Environment

Excessive sunlight draws out natural moisture and leads to cracking. Always allow your tack to dry naturally, away from direct heat or radiators. To shield against the elements, apply our Leather Protector spray regularly and store your tack in a breathable bridle bag.


Addressing Scratches

Scratches are a natural part of a life in the saddle. To treat surface marks, rub a small amount of our Scented Leather Conditioner into the area with a clean, dry cloth and allow it to dry naturally.


Deep Cleaning (The Monthly Service)

Once a month, we recommend fully dismantling your bridle. Clean every part thoroughly with our Leather Cleaner, followed by a layer of Leather Balm to restore deep hydration. Don’t forget the hard-to-reach areas—longevity is in the details.


Caring for Reins

To maintain a secure and reliable grip, we advise against using conditioners or balms on the hand-grip area of your reins. Instead, use a damp sponge and our Leather Cleaner to keep them clean and provide a consistent feel without the leather becoming slippery or greasy.
